The Nantucket and Martha?s Vineyard conservation communities are closely tied by ecological similarities, shared goals and challenges, enduring personal friendships, and a high degree of cooperation. But everyone knows which island is best! This summer, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard go head-to-head in the first-ever inter-island BioBlitz.
The BioBlitz is an annual event where the island community catalogs the biodiversity across our beautiful island. Nantucket has held an island-wide BioBlitz every summer since 2020 and Martha?s Vineyard has been conducting property-specific BioBlitzes for years. This year, for the first time ever, the BioBlitz will be an inter-island competition with our friends and rivals on the other island.
