My first service dog, Hartley, has been by my side for six years, providing life-saving support and companionship every day. Hartley alerts me to high and low heart rates caused by POTS, offers deep and light pressure therapy for chronic pain, ADHD, severe generalized anxiety disorder, Complex PTSD, and POTS, and helps me manage my daily challenges. His presence has allowed me to live independently and safely, and I am forever grateful for the impact he has had on my life.
As Hartley approaches retirement age, I need to begin the process of acquiring and training his successor. My next service dog will take over the essential tasks Hartley performs, including heart rate alerts, deep and light pressure therapy, object retrievals, and hopefully mobility work once medically cleared. The funds raised will go directly toward obtaining a puppy from a reputable, ethical breeder, covering the costs of training, veterinary care, and new supplies needed for the puppy's arrival and development.
Hartley cannot work forever, and it is imperative that I start training my next service dog by the end of 2026, so he can be fully prepared by the time Hartley needs to retire in July 2029. Your support means everything to me and will help ensure I continue to live independently and safely. Thank you for considering a donation to my fundraiser and for helping me secure the future support I need.
