The ?500 to Home? initiative will utilize $500,000 in funding to expand The Home of Record Project?s housing network for veterans in Arizona. Funds will be used to acquire and rehabilitate a 16 unit multi-family property, creating at least 16 new housing units capable of serving 32 or more veterans annually. All funding will be allocated directly to project implementation?no funds will be used for staff salaries or administrative costs.
Why is this important?
- Many veterans face underlying challenges that act as a barrier to housing. At the HRP we understand these challenges because we are veterans ourselves and we provide programs to our veteran clients that address these issues at no cost to the veteran.
- Most nonprofits have large staffs and suffer from what we call "bloat". You can't be certain that your donation doesn't pay someone's salary. At HRP, you can. How do we know this? Simple. We don't get paid. What little overhead we have is simply to utilize platforms to conduct our mission and keep the lights on.
- Lastly, we believe that no veteran that honorably served their country should be without a roof over their head. They served us, now it's our chance to serve them and ensure that they get the resources they need in their time of crisis.
With your help and support we can end veteran homeless in Arizona. Follow us on social media @homeofrecordproject and join our mission today!
