"All flourishing is mutual," writes the Potowatomi botanist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer. At Humanities Amped, where our work is defined by the resilience of our relationships, we are feeling the resonance and timeliness of Kimmerer's message. The Humanities Amped mission is to model and share transformative educational practices that result in people's power to shape their world: this is not work we can do alone.

This school year, we?re celebrating our deep roots at Tara High School. Whether we?re facilitating meaningful, joyful learning in Amped classrooms, training volunteers to support English Language Learners in core content classes, or developing young leaders through the Student Government Association, we remain committed to increasing school connectedness for our students. This transformative approach to learning makes students more likely to stay in, finish, and thrive in school. One student shared with us that being in a Humanities Amped class ?made me feel like I was achieving. It made going to school not feel so bad, cause I knew I was gonna succeed, I knew I was gonna feel motivated to do the class, put in the work, and to not be on my phone. So that really made me feel better actually going to school and feeling more connection.?

We are creating a living model of what is possible when communities and schools work together. By creating these opportunities in the heart of a public school, we are reaching young people right where they are, and are together transforming people and systems from within. We are all in, and we hope you will continue to be part of our mutual flourishing!?
