Firearms are the leading cause of death among U.S. children under age 18, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2023. More than one-third of all unintentional shootings of children take place in the homes of their friends, neighbors or relatives. You can make a difference in these statistics.
ASK (Asking Saves Kids) Day is a national awareness campaign led by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. ASK Day is held every year on June 21, the first day of summer. The goal of the campaign is to keep children safe from guns in their community.
Norton Children?s Prevention & Wellness works tirelessly to provide the community information about firearm safety by offering free classes, programs and gunlocks. By purchasing an ASK Day t-shirt you will be supporting these efforts. A portion of each t-shirt sale will go toward supporting safe storage programming like our Safe Kids, Safe Storage Class and distribution of gun locks to community members via our Safety Care-a-van, pediatric offices, and Emergency Department Safety Cabinet.
