This past week we've seen our heroic fire fighters put their lives on the line as they worked tirelessly to save our town. With a fraction of the requisite resources, against a fire of historical proportions, they didn't hesitate to face the challenges head on, some at enormous personal cost, including the loss of their own homes.
During the darkest days for our town, someone photographed Albert, the white peacock--a symbol of resurrection and renewal?running around as if trying to warn townspeople about the fire. That image of a beautiful white peacock in our smoke-filled town brings much needed hope to those of us who live in and love Boulder Creek. Like a white phoenix, Albert reminds us that we will rise from the ashes of this fire and rebuild our wonderful town.
