BCR is a no-kill cat rescue organization based out of Boston, dedicated to saving and changing the lives of black cats locally and nationally. We are also a queer-founded and queer-run organization. We have been since Day 1. There is no distinct delineation between these two things.

Furthermore, we are committed to programs, actions, and stances that further equity and inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience. This is central to how our mission and activities will expand in the future.

Did you know that black cats are less likely to get adopted than cats of other colors? Black Cat Rescue, a 501(c)3 no-kill cat rescue, strives to change those odds for black cats. Our all-volunteer network of foster homes is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless black cats and kittens by providing quality foster care and medical care while actively seeking loving, permanent adoptive homes.
