Hi friends!
For those who may not know, our daughter Chase was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis while I was pregnant. It was one of the scariest and most uncertain times of our lives - but thanks to breakthroughs in research led by the CF Foundation, we were given hope.
My incredible OB team and the CF team at UAB recommended I participate in a clinical trial, where I started taking Trikafta, a medication that?s changing what life with CF can look like, so Chase could begin receiving it in utero.
When Chase was born, the bowel issue we had been monitoring during pregnancy had resolved. It was a sign the trial worked, and she didn?t need the life-altering surgery we had been bracing for.
We don?t take a single day of her health for granted. We are so grateful that Chase has been given such a strong, healthy start - but she still has Cystic Fibrosis and will require daily treatment unless there?s a cure.
The progress that?s been made in CF care is incredible, and it?s all because of research funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It?s the reason Chase is thriving today.
We would love your support as we raise money to help find a cure?so one day, CF can truly stand for ?cure found.?
You can donate or join Chase?s team, Chasing for a Cure, at the Birmingham Great Strides walk on May 9th. We?re so thankful for the love and support.
