Corbin was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Astrocytoma Tectal Plate Glioma which is a tumor on his brainstem in his midbrain, right before his first birthday. This was an incidental finding, but a blessing we discovered it so early in life.
Corbin underwent MRI scans every 3 months to monitor the Glioma. The tumor remained stable for approximately a year before it decided to start growing just as he was about to be 2- years old. He immediately began chemotherapy treatment that took a year and a half for him to complete. Luckily, he was able to ring the bell, and his tumor was in remission. Now, at 6 years old, his tumor has started to progress and now Corbin faces six weeks of radiation therapy, five days a week.
The radiation he is undergoing is Proton Therapy and is located in Jacksonville Fl. Our family will be living in Jacksonville (two hours from home) during the week so he can receive his treatments. Our hope for this campaign is for Corbin to see everyone wearing their shirts in support of him. With the money raised, we plan to use that to help with gas and travel expenses.
