I recently wrote and shared this simple phrase, which has since become a mantra of sorts for me (and seemed to resonate with others, too). It?s a direct, concise way of getting across an important point: that grief is not something to hide, shy away from, or apologize for. We all have a right to share our grief openly without judgment or shame.

In honor of my mom?s birthday, I created these limited release mugs to spread the word that grief is normal. My mom died suddenly in 1995 when she was 45 years old, and shortly after I turned eight years old, as the result of an undetected pheochromocytoma?a rare type of tumor that forms in the adrenal glands. She went from being seemingly healthy, to being taken from her family and all who loved her without warning in a matter of two days.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these mugs will go to the Pheo Para Alliance in memory of my mom.
