My dogs are my family. I've have pursued help and care for each of them at great lengths...and some of them TRAVELING great lengths. Eliot specifically has required consultations with vets across the country because of the newness of his diagnosis, and lack of providers in our area. We will likely be pursuing surgery to help relieve his pain from a newly found diagnosis (in dogs) called Tethered Cord Syndrome (TCS). Eliot has multiple diagnoses that create immense pain in his daily life and impacts his anxiety and wellbeing. Detethering surgery will be a good option to help better manage his pain throughout his life. We will have to travel to Minnesota to Minnesota Veterinary Neurology to see Dr. Carpentier, who has expertise in this area. We will have to travel and stay in Minnesota for several days which will require gas, boarding, food, lost wages, and support for the dogs at home to provide care to them, too.
