Kevin was found in a good Samaritan's garage. At first, he was nearly presumed dead before he made the faintest, most heart-breaking meow for help. Kevin received his name from his veterinarian at the emergency hospital after he made a drastic, surprising recovery. His dramatic meows could be heard throughout the whole entire hospital, where the joke was made that he was "complaining." His name came from a fun play on "Don't be a Karen" in an appropriate, friendly, male-version way.
