My close family friend, Lincoln Abeyta, had been diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome at only six months old. Seizures soon became regular. Lincoln faced many troubles that many kids would give up on, but Lincoln always persisted with a smile on his face. No matter what was going on, you could always find Lincoln playing Mario Tennis or watching Jeopardy. He loved the Rockies and loved baseball all together. He was a very joyful and amazing person to be around. Sadly, he passed away on August 8th, 2024. Over a year later, I was given the opportunity to participate in the Benjamin Project, where I received $100 to help a family out for the holidays or work with an organization to help fundraise. I decided to work with the Dravet Syndrome Foundation because of Lincoln's love for life, family, and friends. I also wanted to do this to honor others who have passed from Dravet or are still fighting hard.
