Since 1982, the Howell Nature Center is home to Michigan?s largest wildlife rehabilitation clinic ? taking in approximately 4,000 wild animals per year from all over Michigan.
From orphaned baby squirrels to owls with fractured wings, we strive to provide quality care with the hopes of rehabilitation and release back to the wild. We are licensed through the USFWS, DNR and USDA. This vital community service is only possible through the compassion of those citizens who bring us wildlife in need and the generosity of our community which provides financial support.
Wildlife education with the Howell Nature Center offers unique learning opportunities about Michigan wildlife, their conservation and the amazing adaptations that help them survive in the wild landscape around us.
Through our Wild Wonders Wildlife Park, sanctuary to over 70 non-releasable animals, our wildlife outreach program, and our mobile Alexandria's NatureBus, we teach thousands of children each year the importance of Michigan's native wildlife. After all, the next generation will only protect what they learn to love and understand.
SUPPORT WILDLIFE THIS EARTH DAY 2020! Funds generated from the sale of these shirts will go directly into our wildlife rehabilitation and education program.
Further, wear your Earth Day 2020 shirt to our Earth Day Party, happening April 18th from 10am - 2pm, and receive free entrance into the event! Meet wildlife ambassadors up-close-and-personal, create upcycled crafts, play Earth-themed games, and watch animals play with festive enrichment.
(General admission into the event is $6 per adult, $4 per child. Children 2 and under are free!)
