Rochester Rainbow Union, started in 1970, is one of America?s oldest rainbow community organizations, and Rochester?s free rainbow community space. We house New York State?s oldest and largest circulating rainbow archive?the Lilac Library, with over 11,000 unique items, and host community organizations and special events throughout the year, including the Lilac Lectures. Our community magazine?the Empty Closet?is one of America?s oldest rainbow periodicals, and we showcase local artists in our community art Gallery Q.
