The Elakha Alliance is a non-profit based in Oregon, working to return sea otters to our coastline. Sea otters were hunted to local extinction for their thick fur, and by the early 1900's there were no sea otters left in Oregon. These marine mammals are a keystone species for the kelp forest marine ecosystem, so it's critical we return them back to their native waters.
