About this campaign
This original artwork was created by local independent artist Adessa Monique Kelson in collaboration with The Silent Mother Project. Monarch butterflies, natural migrants that cross borders to survive, rise above a melting block of ICE, carrying one powerful truth:
?Even ice cannot freeze the natural desire to move, live, and thrive.?
Adessa creates visual stories rooted in empathy for families, caregivers, and children navigating mental and behavioral health challenges. Through her art, she shines a light on humanitarian issues, challenges indifference, and amplifies voices too often left unseen.
Haitian families in Springfield, Ohio, are currently facing ICE detention, electronic monitoring, lost work authorization, and the threat of family separation. Net proceeds from this campaign will be directly donated to provide direct support to Springfield?s Haitian community.
No person should be punished for seeking safety, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.
