Funny story: We found Robert Hodgin?s work after the New York-based artist made a contribution to support American Rivers? mission. Inspired by an 80-year-old technique of mapping river length and erosion, Robert Hodgin?s ?Meandering Rivers? series charts how a river shapes the land ? and our lives. It was love at first site, and we are thrilled that he agreed to create a custom piece to celebrate American Rivers? 50th anniversary year. Robert is the co-founder of Rare Volume, a design and technology studio. Find him on Twitter at @Flight404.
Nearly everyone in our country lives within a mile of a river but few know what that
river provides. Much of our drinking water comes directly from rivers, and clean
water contributes to our health. Natural river habitats support thousands of plant and animal species. Our farms and cities depend on abundant river water for growth. For many of us, rivers offer recreation and a way to connect to nature. That's why American Rivers is championing a national effort to protect and restore all rivers, from remote mountain streams to urban waterways.
You can be a part of the the movement to protect, restore, and preserve the rivers that people and nature depend on. LEARN MORE: AmericanRivers.org.
