The Patrick Henry Elementary Playground Revitalization Project is a community-focused initiative dedicated to creating a safer, more inclusive, and engaging outdoor play environment for students and families in Martinsville, Virginia. The current playground contains aging equipment, accessibility limitations, and significant safety concerns that restrict opportunities for active and inclusive play.

Through this project, Patrick Henry Elementary School PTO aims to replace outdated equipment, improve accessibility, and enhance the playground to better support children?s physical health, social-emotional development, and overall well-being.

Because the playground also serves as an important community gathering space outside school hours, this revitalization effort will benefit not only students but also local families who rely on the space for safe outdoor recreation and connection.
