The GLOBE Academy is a free, public charter school in DeKalb County, Georgia, that provides a dual-language immersion curriculum with the vision to develop globally
minded citizens who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effect positive change in our world.
On Friday, November 21st, The GLOBE Academy is hosting our 11th Annual GLOBE Trot fun run, GLOBE?s biggest fundraiser. As a free public charter school, GLOBE does not charge tuition or other fees, and receives no public funding through Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes (SPLOST) that traditional public schools receive for capital projects and to maintain their facilities. As a result, GLOBE relies on the generous support of community partners to help the school continue to provide exceptional learning experiences for GLOBE students. In addition to obtaining support from sponsors, GLOBE Trot provides students with an opportunity to raise funds for the school while promoting GLOBE's core values of Community, Respect, Empathy, Sustainability, and Trust.
What is GLOBE Trot?
GLOBE Trot is a school-wide fun run and exercise-focused event where all GLOBE students (~1075) from Kindergarten through 8th grade will RUN, SKIP, RACE and have FUN, while promoting healthy bodies and healthy minds. Proceeds and sponsorships from the event support GLOBE's 2025 fundraising goal of $150,000 that directly supports academic, extracurricular, and dual language immersion programming for students, equipment and software upgrades, facility improvements, strategic planning, and faculty salaries and professional development.
