Charity Sage, Mdewakanton Dakota is an 8th grade Student at Cedar Mountain Middle School in Morgan, MN. She resides in the Lower Sioux Community in Morton MN. Cedar Mountain has 3 field trips planned this year enrich the lives and experiences of their school band members. Charity Sage plays percussion instruments and plays the Piano.
- We will go to Chanhassen dinner theater to bond as a group and experience a higher level of music.
- We do the performance in the park at Valleyfair.
We go and play for everyone at the park and we get to spend some time on the rides as well.
3 - We have a band trip this year (we go every 4 years). This year the band is going to St. Louis, Missouri.
There are multiple fundraisers each student can participate in. All of the fundraisers generate money for the students to pay for these trips. The more a student works and the more they sell the more they earn for themselves. We will be doing 2 more fundraisers in Feb. and a band concession date as well to earn money.
The band trip, which is the big one, is April 14-17 and we will travel by coach bus. Due to some funds left over from the Covid years we actually only need to charge each student $150 to go on the trip. (They will also need spending money for a few meals and souvenirs if they would like).
We here at red Road Attire feel compelled to do what we can to assist, and encourage Charity on her endeavors as a school band member. We highly native students who excel the arts and music contribute to them setting and reaching goals that will benefit them in their future.
With that we created a Dakota Style floral design that was influenced and inspired by Charity sage. Full of color and character, just the way she is.
The Chanhassen and Valleyfair trips happen during the week and are only single days. I believe that the total for the 2 will be about 120 per student and some of that may be offset as we get numbers and dates arranged with the companies. The Chanhassen includes dinner and the Valleyfair is the entrance to the park but not the food.
