Sebastian was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when he was just 14 months old ? still a baby, still learning to walk, still discovering the world. In an instant, our entire world changed. It felt like time stopped. The joy, the normalcy, the simple routines of everyday life were suddenly replaced with hospital rooms, medical terms we had never heard before, and decisions no parent should ever have to make.
We wish this was just a bad dream we could wake up from.
Sebastian isn?t just a diagnosis ? he is a bright, beautiful little boy with so much life ahead of him. He has a twin brother and a 6-year-old big brother -- They are supposed to grow up together ? to play, to laugh, to argue over toys, to share secrets, to make memories that last a lifetime.
We have cried more tears than we knew were possible. We have yelled in anger at the unfairness of it all. We have prayed for strength, for healing, for hope. We have felt fear in ways we never imagined. But through all of it, one thing has become clear:
We are not giving up.
We are choosing to fight ? for Sebastian, for his brothers, for our family. We are choosing hope over fear, courage over despair. The road ahead may be long and uncertain, but we will walk it together, step by step. Sebastian is stronger than anyone knows, and we will stand beside him every single day as he battles this disease.
This is not the story we would have chosen. But it is our story ? and we are going to fight with everything we have.
