AMADIA CREATVE presents - THE UNBREAKABLE COLLECTION?
(featuring Hurricane Grow We? ? the first release)
Jamaicans don?t just survive hurricanes ? hurricanes shape us.
They grow us. They harden us. They remind us who we are.
After Hurricane Melissa, I found myself drowning in the chaos online ? videos, updates, heartbreak, loss. It had me forgetting our truth for a moment. Then one conversation with my cousin Anna snapped me right back.
She lived through the storm and the aftermath ? calm in the madness ? and when I said, ?We were born dealing with this,? she answered with three simple words:
?Hurricane grow we.?
It hit me with flashes of memory from childhood to adulthood:
My favorite June plum tree being cut down so our house could stay standing.
Gilbert shutting Jamaica down while we waited by the phone in America ? cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents ? just wanting to hear one sentence: ?We?re okay.?
The years and years of storms where we held our breath until we knew our people were safe ? sometimes even wishing we were there with them, if only to ease the anxiety of the waiting.
As Jamaicans, as West Indians living abroad, we?ve all been there.
And every single time, the same pattern:
We bend.
We rise.
We rebuild.
That conversation sparked this design ? and then it sparked something bigger.
What started as one statement became the foundation for something deeper:
The Unbreakable Collection?
A line created for us, by us, inspired by the way Jamaicans take disaster and turn it into discipline, community, and strength.
This first drop ? Hurricane Grow We? ? is dedicated to Saint Elizabeth, my parish, my people, and the families and small businesses rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa.
The design highlights the areas in urgent need of support, especially in the hardest-hit communities.
100% of proceeds from this first release will directly support boots-on-the-ground relief efforts, starting with Project HOPE, which has committed to providing three months of support across the worst impacted parishes:
Saint Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Saint James, Hanover, and Trelawny - providing medical care, supplies, equipment, water, hygiene kits, mental health support and much more...
This is a limited run.
A beginning.
A reminder.
A statement so true that it grew into a whole collection expressing exactly who we are as a nation:
Unshakeable.
Unmovable.
Unbreakable.
And trust ? this is only the start.
Future versions and expansions of this collection will continue to uplift, honor, and represent Jamaican resilience with pride ? all while giving back to our communities.
For now, wear this first drop knowing exactly what it stands for:
Hurricane grow we ? and nutten a go bruk wi. ??
