Louie is a 28-year old blue & gold macaw. He was rescued after spending most of his life in a cage that was much too small, and as a result, is unable to spread his wings or fly. Parrots are beautifully intelligent creatures that deserve a life of freedom and autonomy. Unfortunately, Louie's story is not uncommon. Due to the pet trade, there are thousands of parrots currently living in rescues searching for their forever homes.

Parrots are among the top most popular pets in the world, but they are the #1 most re-homed. They live long lives, can be very loud, destructive, and expensive, and require an incredible amount of time and attention to live a happy life in captivity. At Soft Landings Parrot Rescue, these birds are given a second (or third, or fourth...) chance at finding their forever homes. This campaign supports the parrots that are still searching for a loving family.
