The Alice Paul Institute held a design contest for the I Vote for Equality campaign the organization is hosting to inspire voters to elect candidates, at all levels of government across America, who support equality for all people, regardless of gender, race, religion, sexuality, or any other category used to deny individuals equality.

The ?I Vote for Equality? campaign supports API's continued work to ensure that all voters have full and unfettered access to voting on Election Day 2020, and every election in the future. This campaign is designed to raise voter awareness across our networks while also raising important dollars to support our civic engagement efforts. We invite you to wear your t-shirt on Election Day!

The winning design was submitted by Liana DeMarco, an alumni of the Alice Paul Institute's Girls Leadership Council. GLC is a leadership development program for teen girls in southern New Jersey. She is currently studying painting at the Pratt Institute.

Liana said this about why she "Votes for Equality":

"I am extremely passionate about striving for equality, especially during this incoming election when things are in jeopardy. I continue to be inspired by Alice and the strides she made in her life. I thought it was important to include intersectionality in my piece because Alice was a product of her time and intersectionality wasn't at the forefront of her advocacy. Intersectionality is important because feminism is nothing without it."
