Thank you for supporting Jonah's Biliary Atresia Journey! On March 19, 2021 Jonah was diagnosed with a rare liver disorder, Biliary Atresia (BA), which affects about 1 in 20,000 infants. Upon diagnosis, the surgeons performed a Kasai procedure to treat his messy anatomy to better support the health of his liver. Unfortunately, his Kasai procedure failed after three months. Since there is no known cause or cure for Biliary Atresia, Jonah received a liver transplant on August 19, 2021.
By the grace of God, we have been able to enjoy 1,825 ordinary days since his transplant. To celebrate his 5th Liverversary, we are opening the shop again and donating all proceeds to BARE | Biliary Atresia Research & Education.
BARE was created to help address some of the deficiencies and frustrations currently existing in the Biliary Atresia community. Having an organization dedicated solely to BA will hopefully drive progress in finding a cause, treatment, and ultimately, a cure. In the few years of BARE's existence, they have facilitated a BA-specific community that WE have access to daily, empowered physicians and scientists to find answers, and connected families with those brilliant professionals to see the people beyond the patient charts.
If your apparel has held up well and you'd like to continue to support our efforts, you can make a tax-deductible gift directly to BARE Inc.
