The State of Montana currently loses 18,000 acres of open land each year.
A recent Montana realtor?s poll indicates growth in our rural valley on a scale greater than we have experienced over the past few decades.
Although much of this growth shapes our community in positive ways, it also impacts what makes the Bitterroot a great place to call home - our open lands, our farms and ranches, our river, our wildlife, and our community.
Bitter Root Land Trust (BRLT) is the only local nonprofit focused on the needs, opportunities, and challenges of land, water and wildlife conservation in the Bitterroot Valley. Since its inception in 1997, BRLT has helped over 45 local families conserve approximately 9,000 acres of land and created incredible riverfront parks that allow community members to recreate on our rivers.
You will safeguard our valley?s unique character, prosperous local economy, and vibrant way of life. You can protect why we all choose to be here. We need your help to keep the Bitterroot, the Bitterroot.
