The artwork you see here was done by my daughter when she was 4 years old. It was her idea. Her hand. Her finger paint. All her.
Her amazing little heart recognized at 4 that being kind to EVERYONE could make the world a better place. (Teaching her little brother this is more of a challenge and maybe a different campaign :)) When the negative space in the center of her palm created the shape of a heart, this became something more than a finger painting by a child. It became a symbol of all the things that matter to me and to lots of people in their life today. Our family. Our friends. Equality. Being kind. Being happy. Being true to one?s self. Being courageous. The list is never-ending, like kindness could be; never-ending.
Help us raise awareness about being kind. Practice this quality. Pay it forward. Be considerate to society?s feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Be open-minded. Teach your children and students that kindness is contagious. That equality matters. People matter. Life matters. Not color. Not race. Not sexuality. But life. Remind yourself that no matter what life throws at you, your kindness is there to catch it and turn it into positivity.
Be the most kind person you can be and watch the world change with you. It really is contagious.
