After heart surgery, we really hoped Luke could turn the page on so many of his struggles ? and in some ways, he has. But the past couple of months have shown us there?s still more going on. He?s been sick off and on for about 2? months, and his team at Boston Children?s now believes there?s something deeper happening than just his immune issues from 22q.
We met with his pulmonologist a few weeks ago and now know we?ll be heading back to Boston the week of Thanksgiving for another procedure to hopefully get some answers.
A lot of people ask why we can?t see someone closer to home, and the truth is ? Luke?s case is just really complex. The specialists in Boston understand how all his conditions connect, and that kind of expertise just doesn?t exist anywhere else.
It?s hard to face another trip, another round of unknowns. Watching him struggle is heartbreaking. But we?re holding on to hope and trusting that the Lord isn?t surprised by any of this. He?s carried us before ? and we know He?ll do it again. ?
We?ll share more soon, but we?d love your prayers as we prepare and keep walking this road with Luke. ?
