We are so excited to be walking for our patients with arthritis in the 2025 Jingle Bell Run and hope you'll join us!

This year, we are honored to have four of our pediatric rheumatologists recognized as Medical Honorees for the Western Suburbs and Chicago Jingle Bell Runs. It is a joy to take care of kids and their families with arthritis.

If you weren?t aware that children can also get arthritis, it?s because it is a relatively rare condition. It is still the most common disease that we take care of as pediatric rheumatologists, with about 1 in 1000 children in the US estimated to have autoimmune arthritis. We have children as young as 1 year of age being diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which is a lifelong condition requiring immunosuppressive medications, blood draws, and doctor?s visits. By raising funds with the Arthritis Foundation, we are hoping to not only improve the quality of life for our children but also to fund research that will ultimately find a cure. We are a small division within a very small field. There are less than 400 practicing pediatric rheumatologists working across the country, so we need all of the help that we can get!
