The Maryland Biodiversity Project leads two fall morning flight bird counts in the state. These are located at Turkey Point (Cecil County) at the top of the Chesapeake Bay and at Dans Rocks (Allegany County) in western Maryland. These are the only official morning flight counts in Maryland. The data collected during our first five years has been invaluable in furthering our understanding of eastern U.S. bird migration, especially in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. With your help we can continue to run these important surveys for years to come.
