Last year, MWOBS launched a newly expanded suite of educational programming including field trips to the ?Home of the World?s Worst Weather.? One of our goals as a nonprofit organization is to provide every student in New Hampshire with the opportunity to reach new heights and experience the legend that is Mount Washington. However, given the logistics of transporting students to the highest peak in the Northeast, it can become an expensive endeavor for some schools across our state. To offset the costs for schools, MWOBS is launching the ?Take Education to New Heights? Snowcat t-shirt campaign. MWOBS observers and staff use a Bombardier "Snowcat" to reach the highest peak in New England during the winter season. The funds raised by this campaign will go towards subsidizing fees associated with a Mount Washington Observatory Field Trip, primarily the costs of transportation up and down the mountain.
Your support will help rural New Hampshire youth reach new heights and experience one of the most unique classrooms that New England has to offer!
The Mount Washington Observatory is a private, nonprofit, member-supported institution with a mission to advance understanding of the natural systems that create Earth's weather and climate. It serves this mission by maintaining a weather station on the summit of Mount Washington, performing weather and climate research, and conducting innovative science education programs.
