Grieve Me Alone is what it is, an idea that emerged more fully from the creator Chantal King shortly after her Mother passed in November 2019. Chantal started enhancing apparel for her dear friends shortly after they lost loved ones as gifts to not only show emotional support, but to offer words at a time where energy was sparse so others would know to go easy on the grieving. After Chantal's Mom passed, and while awaiting the viewing hours to begin for her mother's services, she shared with her Dad that she wished she would've made shirts for them both to wear that said what they were actually thinking as they realized that those who were to soon gather to pay respects to her Mother would expect hugs, and lots of hugs (because Mom was a hugger). To make this story short, early in her grief, Chantal received clarity in the late night hours and while feeling like she had nothing more to lose, she curled up in her closet to begin the Grieve Me Alone podcast. She thought that even though Grieve Me Alone could ultimately remain a space that was more like a personal journal for her to share her own grief, she also had the notion that it could also become a community for others, who like her, wanted, needed, and deserved a space to share, and have their grief be acknowledged. The longer story can be heard on the Grieve Me Alone podcast, a space created for the grieving to be heard and acknowledged. Chantal hopes to intentionally shift the relationship we all have with grief, help show support to those who are grieving, and remind others that they are not alone in their journey.
