New Roots, a partnership between Cultivate KC and Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, has supported refugee families in starting their own small farm businesses for over 15 years. Since 2008, 44 farm families have graduated from the program, and 34 of those are still actively farming in the KC Metro.
