If you know Donnie Carufel, you know that in his teaching days he would often wear "native-inspired shirts" because at the time, those were primarily what you could buy that had Native imagery on them. He wanted his students to be proud of their Native identity. This shirt is created by his daughter to memorialize that same sentiment but with images of him alongside a marten, in front of one of his favorite places, a tipi meeting.
