We want to bring awareness to a rare genetic condition that our son was recently diagnosed with. Menkes (aka Kinky Hair Disease) is a genetic disease that affects copper levels in the body. The gene specifically affected is the ATP7A that provides instruction for making the enzyme that regulates copper levels in the body.
