In May of 1959, an article appeared on page 13 of the Honolulu Advertiser describing what witnesses say was the ghost of a woman with no face in the ladies' restroom of the Waialae Drive-In Theatre. According to Bob Krauss, author of the column, "In One Ear," in which the tale of the faceless ghost appeared, the movies playing the night of the first witness's account were "Love Slaves of the Amazons" and "Monolith Monsters."
Over the years, many people have claimed to witness the faceless woman in other places after the theater closed and reports of sightings still continue to this day and the Legend of the Noppera Bo, the faceless ghost of Waialae Drive-In has become one of Oahu's most favorite spooky tales.
