Birdathon is our annual fundraiser where teams sign up and raise money for Northern Virginia Bird Alliance (NVBA) - by going birding! Birdathon supports NVBA's outdoor education programs, citizen science, habitat conservation, and programs to encourage people to plant native plants and protect native wildlife. Birdathon also helps ornithologists better understand spring migration by reporting sightings through eBird, an online database of bird observations run by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Support Birdathon by creating a team, joining a team or supporting a team - or by getting yourself some awesome Birdathon or NVBA gear! Your purchase lets wear your support for NVBA right on your shirt, and all proceeds directly benefit our conservation work. It's a birding adventure in its own right, featuring many species our intrepid Birdathon teams are likely to encounter during their counts!
