By - Grace Caltrider
This fall, I will step into the ring for the Haymakers for Hope DC Beltway Brawl, run the Baltimore Marathon, and take on the challenge of running the JFK 50 Mile Ultra Marathon - three personal tests of endurance, resilience, and grit over three consecutive months. Challenges that will push me physically and mentally in new ways.
But these challenges are chosen.
For young adults and families facing cancer, the challenge isn?t optional. Cancer disrupts everything ? health, identity, school, careers, relationships, finances, and the future they imagined for themselves. And long after treatment ends, many continue navigating the lasting impact of survivorship.
The strength, courage, and perseverance required to face that reality every single day far surpasses anything I?ll experience in a boxing ring or on a race course.
That?s why I?m dedicating this journey to the young adults and families served by Ulman Foundation and to the incredible team who show up every day to walk beside them through some of life?s most difficult moments.
One More Round is built on a simple idea: when things get hard, we keep going. One more round. One more mile. One more step. One more day.
Because for someone facing cancer, one more day matters.
Funds raised through the One More Round campaign will support Ulman Foundation?s work helping young adults and families navigate everything around cancer ? from bedside and hospital-based support, to support groups, survivorship programming, housing, and community. Through navigation and whole-person care, Ulman ensures no young adult faces cancer alone.
I?m asking you to join me. Every donation, every share, and every show of support helps make sure young adults facing cancer have someone in their corner when they need it most.
