Alma Tails of Hope (AToH) was founded in March of 2019 after founder, Amy Baker, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma. Amy says the helpless feeling that she felt in the first few months in dealing with her diagnosis inspired her to help the animals out there that cannot help themselves.
After a few years of fostering for some other rescue groups, Amy decided to start her own 501(c).3 rescue group. AToH takes in mainly dogs and cats, but has been known to help rehome a variety of other animals in need. The rescue?s main goal is to help animals who are in need by providing medical care and a safe environment while they are in our custody, then finding the perfect home for that animal to live the rest of its life in.
Alma Tails of Hope is a no kill, volunteer/foster based 501(c).3 animal rescue organization. Our mission is to rescue abandoned, neglected and stray companion animals. We work to secure a better life for them in loving and forever homes.
Our animals often come into our rescue through other shelters or animal rescue organizations, as strays, or owner surrenders from people in our local communities. Upon arrival, animals will be given age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, microchipping, will be spayed/neutered, and a vet examination. We provide medical care and a safe, comfortable living environment for our rescues to enjoy while they await their forever home. To ensure all of our animals are placed in the right loving homes, we adhere to an adoption process which may come with a home visit if necessary.
Being an all volunteer foster based non-profit animal rescue we rely on volunteers/fosters to help out and donations from our supporters and followers to fund our organization.
