About this campaign
Turtles are long-lived creatures of habit? in other words, turtles know their place!
In a turtle's home range, she knows exactly where to find food, water, and a place to settle in for winter. When someone moves her to a "better" spot, she's going to try to get back to her home. As she travels through unfamiliar territory, she?ll cross more busy roads and encounter more dangerous obstacles than if she were left to navigate the home she knows.
This is why it?s imperative to put turtles in their place! When a turtle is admitted to the Wildlife Rescue Center, we gather all the necessary information to ensure, once she recovers, we return that turtle back to her home range.
For a limited time only, you can support these efforts with your ?Putting Turtles in Their Place? shirt! Wear your shirt with pride and when someone asks you, ?What?s that all about?? tell them, ?Turtles want to stay put!? and REMEMBER THESE TURTLE TACTICS:
? If you see a turtle in the road, give her room to cross. If safe to do so, help her across in the direction she was headed.
? If you encounter an injured or sick turtle, contact the Wildlife Rescue Center for help.
? Never remove a healthy turtle from the wild.
? Never move a turtle away from the home she knows.
