In the beginning, Ava endured 6 months of the initial Chemotherapy treatment which included, countless procedures, blood transfusions, along so many oral medications, many side effects, ICU admission, and ED admissions. After undergoing those treatments, we were told that it did not work for her. We were informed that Ava needed to go for a Marrow transplant. Luckily, Ava's younger sister was her half-match so Ava went through hospitalization to receive her sister's Stem cells (which we believed was Ava's forever cure). It did gave Ava 2 yrs of life to live normally, that 2 yrs her sister gave her was a gift that Ava truly enjoyed going back to school, back to her Orchestra class, going for a trip to compete for concerts which she looks forwards to, and just being a normal teenager, going on a roadtrips being on a beach swimming without any lines attached to her body. Until 2 yrs Post post-transplant biopsy we were told again that she had relapsed, Ava is devastated and heartbroken as we all are. Ava continues to face her days with so much HOPE, STRENGTH, AND FAITH to fight and still manages to have that smile on her face.
Ava's treatment options are hard to decide that even the statistics cannot provide us with assurance. Ava's treatment this time will be Out-of-State, which we know is very costly.
We don't know what the right decisions is, we are only holding to our HOPE AND FAITH THAT GOD GOT THIS, THAT HE IS BIGGER AND KNOWS BETTER THAN WHAT THE STATISTICS ARE SHOWING, GOD IS HELPING US FIND THAT FOREVER CURE FOR AVA. GOD WILL PROVIDE COMFORT.
Even with all the information that we have exhausted we are still at loss at this. No words to describe this, and NO KIDS SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS, AND NO PARENT SHOULD LIVE DECIDING HOW TO EXTEND THEIR KIDS LIFE AT THIS VERY YOUNG AGE WHOSE FULL OF ASPIRATIONS IN LIFE.
Please keep Ava in your prayers every day to keep her positive spirit to help her get through this and that she continues to fight. We are in so much awe of all the people whom we haven't met extending their help and prayers. Our family is so grateful that we have you all. We couldn't have made it this far. From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much for being part of our village and Ava's greatest support and prayer warriors. Our hearts are full because of all of you.
Rally with Ava on her journey to find a CURE, wearing this specially designed shirt. Because "NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE" ( a portion of each shirt sold proceeds to Ava to help her out-of-state treatment expenses). Ava loves playing her Viola and the quote says it all that most of the time she have no right words how to explain what she feels but she certainly can express it through her music. Playing her instrument gives her happiness and what kept her going while in the hospital. When the time she wouldn't be able to use her Viola she was able to play using Ukelele that someone gifted her. Ava kept going and gives us so much strength to keep going.
So much love, The Wease's
