If you?ve been following Rewild Refuge, you?ve likely met our beloved mini donkey, Rooster! We welcomed him to our sanctuary in late summer 2023 after learning that he had spent a lonely seven years, mostly confined to a stall. Thankfully, his previous owners agreed to surrender him, allowing Rooster to finally experience the companionship, freedom, and fresh forage he so deserved. Since his arrival, Rooster has not only found his place but has also formed a special bond with our largest horse, Zeus. Rooster has brought immense joy to our sanctuary, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have him as part of our family!
