SitStayRead advances children?s literacy skills using an engaging curriculum, certified dogs, and dedicated volunteers. With once-weekly, hour-long session, our volunteers help kids develop the literacy skills to succeed - and they get to read to dogs, too!

SitStayRead provides year-round programming for low-income students in kindergarten through third grades in Chicago Public Schools. Each grade-level program is created in partnership many, including faculty from the University of Illinois at Chicago Center for Literacy, University of Chicago, DePaul University, and Northeastern Illinois University.
Research has found that students in SitStayRead developed fluency at a rate 47.8% greater than their non-participating peers. Help Chicago Public school kids get a leg up on literacy!
