About Team Pawsitive Steps

Team Pawsitive Steps was founded in 2021 in loving memory of my son, Ryan, who died by suicide that year. In the midst of the greatest heartbreak of my life, I was?and continue to be?surrounded by the unwavering love and support of family, friends, coworkers, and our community. Their kindness and compassion continue to walk beside me as I heal, inspiring me to transform heartbreak into purpose.

Today, Team Pawsitive Steps is our way of honoring Ryan's life by helping others know they are never alone, that hope can be found through connection, compassion, and conversations that matter.

Inspired by the way Ryan lived his life, these simple but powerful words?Be Kind ? Be Epic ? Be Love?have become the heart of our team and the way we strive to live every day. They remind us that even the smallest act of kindness can change someone's life.

Our mission is to honor those we have lost to suicide, support those who are struggling, and raise both awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Every dollar helps fund research, education, advocacy, and programs that save lives, while every conversation helps break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Together, every step we take moves us toward a future where fewer families experience the heartbreak of suicide, more people know that help is available, and more lives are saved because someone reached out, someone listened, and someone chose to stay.
