Over the past year, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to protect my safety, privacy, and future after experiencing intimate partner abuse, image based sexual abuse, and post-separation harassment and litigation abuse. I need experienced representation to protect my rights.
The financial burden has become overwhelming, but giving up would mean allowing intimidation and further abuse to succeed. This campaign is helping me raise money toward legal fees so I can continue defending myself without jeopardizing my family?s financial stability.
The messages on these shirts are deeply personal to me, but they belong to many others too. ?Believe Survivors? recognizes those whose experiences are minimized or dismissed. ?Take Your Meds. Drink Your Water. Protect Your Peace.? reclaims the shame too often attached to mental-health treatment and turns it into a message of care, strength, and survival. ?Take your meds? was one of my abuser?s favorite phrases to use to undermine my self-esteem and make me question my own judgment, perceptions, and emotional stability. Lastly, I created the ?Mental Health Matters? as a bold reminder that needing or asking for support is never a weakness. Mental healthcare is healthcare and just like we don?t shame people for treating physical illnesses, and no one should be mocked, shamed, or diminished for seeking treatment for a mental-health condition.
Every shirt purchased and every contribution helps me keep fighting. Just as importantly, wearing one helps remind others that survivors deserve to be heard, mental health is never a punchline, and seeking help is nothing to be ashamed of.
Thank you for standing with me.
Any proceeds left over from my legal fees will be donated to the Ohio Domestic Violence Network
