Founded in 2019, the Chattanooga Feral Cat Alliance is a small non-profit organization working to humanely reduce the overpopulation of feral and community cats in Chattanooga, Tenn., through trap/neuter/return services and education.

Often abbreviated as TNR, the process involves humanely trapping feral cats, bringing them into a local clinic for spay/neuter surgery as well as a rabies vaccine and an ear tip?the universal sign of a fixed feral cat?and then returning them back to their outdoor homes (called "colonies") once they're recovered, where their colony caretaker continues to provide them with food, water and outdoor shelter. TNR has been proven to be the least costly and most humane way of stabilizing the feral cat population, and it can eventually reduce the size of colonies in an area. Spaying and neutering feral cats eliminates unwanted behaviors like spraying and fighting, and cuts down on the spread of disease. Perhaps most importantly, TNR reduces the number of kittens that are born?and die?in the wild.

All proceeds from our campaigns go directly toward our TNR efforts here in Chattanooga, where we pay anywhere from $35 to $85 to spay/neuter and vaccinate one cat. We appreciate your support!
