The Cleveland Park Historical Society

The Cleveland Park Historical Society was established in 1985 by a group of dedicated residents concerned about preserving the neighborhood's architectural heritage and unique character. Their efforts led to Cleveland Park being designated as a historic district in 1987, ensuring that the neighborhood's distinctive architecture would be protected for future generations. Cleveland Park is now one of more than 30 historic districts in the city.

While continuing to serve as a guardian of Cleveland Park's historic character, over the decades, CPHS has expanded its mission. We help homeowners navigate the historic preservation process, document the neighborhood's architectural history, and work to foster a strong sense of community through events, walking tours, and educational programs.
