The Pennypack Environmental Center (PEC), part of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, resides on land originally stewarded by the Lenape. In 1958, it was dedicated as a bird sanctuary and continues to be designated as an Important Bird Area.

Wear your support of our dedication to conservation, education, and sustainable recreation in Philly.

Currently, PEC serves children, adults, and families through low to no cost environmental education programing and outdoor experiences in all weather.

The Center has an outdoor amphitheater, interactive exhibits, a reference library, live animals, and picnic areas for visitors to enjoy for free.
