Food For Neighbors combats child hunger in Northern Virginia by raising awareness and community involvement about teen food insecurity. The nonprofit works closely with middle and high school social workers, counselors, and parent liaisons, who identify hungry students for regular, weekend food supplementation and/or grocery gift cards.

Currently, over 3,000 community members are donating food five times per year, and over 3,400 neighbors are volunteering to collect, sort, package, and/or distribute it. The need is great, and more and more schools are reaching out to Food For Neighbors for assistance.
